What it means to be a member of the CFA Board

CFA President Paul Wheeler offers insight about what it means to be a member of the board.

Why should Catalina Foothills residents consider joining the CFA Board?

"Participation on the CFA Board enables me to better understand the community I live in. As the previous CFA Historian and now President I have developed a strong appreciation for why the Foothills area remains a picturesque community that is distinctive due to its 'sense of place'. I recognize that I am a part of something that is unique. I feel responsibility to protect that sense of place for others to enjoy, as well. I act on this responsibility through my Board participation, which allows me to review and provide input regarding ideas and issues that impact the Foothills community. I have a voice to support the quality of living we all enjoy."

How does participation on the CFA Board enhance the Catalina Foothills community?

"As a community of like-minded neighbors we want to maintain our investment and see our community thrive. Becoming a member of the CFA Board can be a meaningful way to explore how your experience and expertise can be applied at the community level, and ultimately help advance our community. Being a CFA Board member is a wonderful way to simultaneously learn and give something back. It’s not very often in life that you get that opportunity to do both."

What are other potential benefits of board membership for Catalina Foothills residents?

"We all have pride of ownership, not just of our homes and property, but of the greater Foothills community.  With ownership comes a responsibility to participate. You can participate in our community by becoming a member of the CFA Board providing your talents, connections, experience, passion, and perspectives to ensure this sense of place. "
